Tourism in Hawaii During a recession
In these tough ecenomic times people need a break more than ever. You deserve a vacation and can still afford it. You can cut corners and still have a wonderful time. The price of fuel is up and so are airfares, so you might want to consider staying in less extravagent accommodations. Perhaps a B&B or Vacation Rental. You may have heard or read “twitterings” about Maui County ” closing down all the B&B’s. NOT true , B&B’s fall under the same catagory as Transient Vacation Rentals but most are legal, permitted and in no jeopard of being shut down. Many Vacation Rentals are also legal and all the “hub bub” is really about the County looking at illegal vacation rentals. Permitted B&B’s offer clean, safe, attractive accomodations for way less than the big resorts. Most have private bathes and include breakfast, parking and internet access for free, something you will pay for at a resort. Many resorts are now adding a “resort charge” to your room rate for your morning newspaper, use of excercise facilities and other ammenities that you may not want or use but will pay for anyway. When the cost of one aspect of your vacation goes up, you can only compensate by cutting costs in other aspects. Who knows - you may find out your hooked on B&B’s so enjoy- life is short so have some fun in the sun now.
